Product engineering brief
Mica & Busbar Insulation Components
Rigid and high-temperature insulation components around busbars, terminals and module interconnects.

The engineering problem
Start with the installed interface.
Busbar insulation needs grade-specific dielectric and temperature evidence plus geometry that survives forming, fastening and assembly.
We review mica and composite sheet options, cutouts, folds or formed features, adhesive and mounting around the conductor drawing.

Selection logic
Decision data customers and engineers expect
| Decision dimension | What must be defined |
|---|---|
| Voltage | Define AC/DC/impulse duty and test method. |
| Mechanical | Review cracks, chips, fasteners and bend radius. |
| Heat | Separate service temperature from event exposure. |
| Mounting | Specify adhesive, clip or fastener system. |
Engineering data
Available parameters and validation status
| Parameter | Value / range | Condition | Method | Evidence state |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mica grade | Project-specific | Define with application | Grade / project specific | Application validation required |
| Thickness | Selected by geometry and electrical duty | Define with application | Grade / project specific | Customizable target |
| Dielectric evidence | Exact grade, thickness and method required | Define with application | Grade / project specific | Application validation required |
| Converted geometry | Die-cut / formed to drawing | Define with application | Grade / project specific | Customizable target |
Ranges are selection windows or material-family references, not universal guarantees. Final values are tied to the approved grade, converted construction, thickness, conditioning and test method.

Frequently asked questions
Clear answers before sampling
Can mica be adhesive-backed?
Yes if the adhesive meets temperature, substrate and electrical requirements; the bonded construction needs its own thickness control.
Does mica replace creepage design?
No. System-level creepage, clearance and edge conditions remain part of the electrical design.
Can mica be combined with film?
Potentially. Multilayer compatibility and process feasibility must be assessed.
