Product engineering brief
Cell-to-Cell Aerogel Thermal Barriers
Thin, low-conductivity converted barriers for battery-cell spacing and defined transient thermal exposure.

The engineering problem
Start with the installed interface.
Aerogel-family data is useful for screening, but final behavior depends on thickness, encapsulation, compression, edges and the complete cell test.
Available as custom die-cut pads or multilayer constructions with handling, electrical and assembly options reviewed to drawing.
Position and function

Selection logic
Decision data customers and engineers expect
| Decision dimension | What must be defined |
|---|---|
| Grade | Lock supplier grade, carrier form and data source. |
| Thickness | Review nominal, compressed and tolerance conditions. |
| Encapsulation | Balance dust control and handling against added layers and edge paths. |
| Evidence | Validate the final converted stack in the target cell/module setup. |
Engineering data
Available parameters and validation status
| Parameter | Value / range | Condition | Method | Evidence state |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Available thickness | 0.50–6.00 mm | Define with application | Grade / project specific | Available range |
| Thermal conductivity | 0.012–0.030 W/m·K | Material-family screening range; verify mean temperature and method by grade | Grade / project specific | Typical material value |
| Density | 70–200 kg/m³ | Representative material-family range | Grade / project specific | Typical material value |
| Converted outline | Custom to drawing | Define with application | Grade / project specific | Customizable target |
| Thermal-runaway performance | Application test required | Cell, state of charge, geometry, compression and exposure dependent | Grade / project specific | Application validation required |
Ranges are selection windows or material-family references, not universal guarantees. Final values are tied to the approved grade, converted construction, thickness, conditioning and test method.

Frequently asked questions
Clear answers before sampling
Are all aerogel barriers electrically insulating?
Do not assume so. Electrical evidence must cover the supplied grade and complete construction.
Can the pad be framed?
Yes, subject to material compatibility and converting feasibility; frame geometry becomes part of the validation.
Are website values guaranteed?
They are screening ranges, not a finished-part specification. The quotation locks the grade, construction and evidence.
